There are no cockroaches in England (that's a Clash song)

AAAHH...maestro here. Another hapless, sleepless night. I am sleepless in south Tampa, kids. About ten minutes ago I decided that there MUST be something more fruitful to do with my early morning than lie on my side with my eyes open. That something more fruitful was a walk downstairs to my refrigerator to down the last half of my fruit punch gatorade and then a second descending down to the very bottom floor of my house to start what will be a very beautiful thing... My contribution to this blog, which, by the way, I am very happy to be a part of.

a word on my affiliation with the co-authors...
I met Matthew at a party. It was a balmy August evening in the city of Beerdome, Tallahassee. I suppose I had seen him around, and maybe that's why we started chatting. I knew we were going to be friends. He called me later that evening, employing the Drink and Dial, and left me a message that lasted five minutes -- it's possible it was longer. I like Matthew a lot. So much, in fact, that he's the only gay guy I'd consider having sex with -- I like him that much.

the other author is of course fabulously wonderful herself. If I have a favorite memory with Kelsey it might well be the night we sat sipping vodka and orange juice on her porch while she explained to me why there is a warrant out for her arrest in Kansas. Those are the kind of details I won't be sharing on this blog -- sorry kids.

.....There are NO cockroaches in England (if I am wrong, you are always welcome to correct the maestro with a friendly comment). That was nice because it meant that I didn't have to dodge them when I wanted to use the computer. Cockroaches seem to me to be a particularly Southern disaster. For instance, the cockroaches in Alabama are as big as the average southerner right hand. And if you think that's disgusting, imagine about twenty hand-sized cockroaches traveling together. These massive bugs scurry in clans. EWE.

I write in order to share. Remember, The maestro cares about you. I want that to be spledidly clear from the very beginning. And when we're not having our college time giggles, I want this to be an edifying experience.

I'm really very excited about all of the fun we're going to be having, kids. Soon we'll have music up, and more goodies. Just thinking about it makes me tired.

flick flick flicker, and go..............

I retreated in dissapointment to my car that was parked in staff parking to smoke a cigarette and listen to tom waits on the way home. I felt a bit of ecstacy. I felt very close to my surroundings. Threatened at the gas station, and admiring of the city in which I live. The road constructions, never quite done here, are we? the meddling men with no where to go, the diurnal downtown streets, the neons greens and reds directing me safely home once again.

These sort of things happen when the mind wanders:

winter, loneliness and the tragedy of online personals

*a forgotten post from December 20th...last year* it is officially winter now, isn't it? or are we waiting for a sign--perhaps a lonely snowflake or at least a bit of lacy frost on the window? all i get, other than closer to my winter vacation, is exhaust when i exhale. i guess there is one other thing i get this time of year--the need. i am one of those people who rarely feels such things--I don't write long long entries in my diary about MY crushes...otherwise the pages would be rather virginal. but, this time--this place I'm spending far too much time wandering and flinging glances like lances into beautiful people's eyes. I must mention here, as well, that I am sure I could have SOMETHING, if I get desperate, but who wants to jump into...hah...maybe most people... I am probably on almost every single online dating site in Japan. I'd list them here but they're all rather redundant and, dearest readers, don't worry about me sullying my reputation; I...
